About the role
Description:
- Join Whatnot, the largest livestream shopping platform in North America and Europe, as a Software Engineer in the Infrastructure Reliability Engineering team.
- Build distributed systems, services, and frameworks to ensure reliability as the platform scales.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in designing and building large-scale distributed systems, preferably in Python, Elixir, or Go.
- Strong fundamentals in shared production services and frameworks.
- Experience with traffic control mechanisms, load testing, chaos testing, observability, SLOs, and incident response.
- Comfortable in cloud-native environments (AWS or GCP) with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Bonus: Experience with high-traffic, real-time systems and building developer-facing tools.
