  • The Senior Elixir Software Engineer will contribute to the core web platform and supporting applications built in Elixir, Phoenix, LiveView, Ash, TypeScript, and Tailwind, backed by a Postgres database.
  • The role involves collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to ship new features that enhance the platform's engagement and value.
  • The Engineering team emphasizes collaboration, including pairing, code reviews, and discussions on process improvements.
  • As a senior engineer, the individual will lead projects and mentor other engineers.
  • Responsibilities include fixing bugs, improving code quality, addressing technical debt, and reducing complexity.
  • This is a full-time regular employment opportunity, with hybrid or remote options available for the right candidate.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have at least five years of professional software engineering experience.
  • A minimum of four years of experience working with Elixir (or another functional language) in production is required.
  • A solid understanding of OTP is necessary.
  • Experience in building web applications with Phoenix and LiveView is essential.
  • Candidates should have experience designing and consuming APIs.
  • Experience working with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, is required.
  • A strong appreciation for automated tests and a testing culture is necessary.
  • Candidates should possess a product mindset and be driven by helping users.
  • Understanding that software engineering is a team effort and enjoying communication and collaboration with the team is important.
  • Candidates should be excited to work in a startup environment with agile-ish processes.
  • Previous experience working on a remote or hybrid team is preferred.

  • The annual total compensation for this position is expected to be between $150,000 - $175,000, with potential for performance-based salary increases and eligibility for stock-based compensation and/or variable pay programs.
